Music video research: General questionnaire

General music video questionnaire

The aim of this questionnaire is to establish the sort of demographics and type of people who listen/watch music videos. Also i want to understand from my questionnaire where it is common for people to watch music videos. From this questionaire i would like to be able to establish my target audience and their music video viewing habbits.
This is my questionnaire:

1.     Are you male / female?
I asked this question so i could get a general over view on peoples viewing habbits. I asked both males and females to answer my questionnaire because i would like to attract both males and females in my target audience to aproach a wider target group.

2.     What age category are you?

0-10               11-20                         21-30             31-40             41-50                         50+
Here i wanted to get an over view on general viewing habbits. I felt that this would help me to determine my target audience as i could see if patterns in viewing habbits were typical of certian age groups.

3.     What type of music are you into? (circle all applicable)

For this question i wanted to understand what the most popular type of music was amoungst the people i asked in my questonnaire.

4.     How do you feel about mainstream lime light artists like Little mix and One direction?

Although this question isnt about music videos as such i wanted to see if the people i asked were a fan of following society and conventions - therefore by asking if the people i questioned were into mainstream artists, i could establish if people liked to follow conventions and steryotypes. Also by naming artists, i felt that i could understand the music video viewing habbits of the people who completed my questionnaire.

I decided to include this question so that i can get some ideas from other people about what is liked in a music video.

I decided that this question in important in the distribution of music videos to see how trends have changed and how different age groups watch music videos in different places.

I understand that this questionnaire is not 100% representative of all ages across England as i only asked 10 people who are similar in terms of socio - economic status and demographics.
