I have found when deconstructing alternative music videos that they are often simple but yet still effective. The simpleness is usually due to the fact that the alternative music industry often gets less production funding than industries such as pop music videos. Also alternative music videos are either arty and creative or simple so that the main focus of the audience is on the song. In this case the main focus is on the song as the music video is very very simple as it is just shot on a beach and consists mainly of close ups and medium close ups.
The mise-en-scene/ location is also very bare as it is set on a beach further imposing the focus to be directed towards the song and the artists talent.
